Norwegian Majesty
Norwegian Cruise Line

by Linda Coffman

Part Two

Public Areas
Her profile is stylish and her interiors are refined. Norwegian Majesty doesn't dazzle or overwhelm with glass elevators and soaring atrium. Instead, she sports classic interiors for sailing in comfortable style. The Crossroads lobby on Atlantic Deck anchors several lounges, the Internet Cafe, library, card room, video arcade, main dining rooms, Le Bistro, and duty-free shops.

With seven lounges and the Palace Theater (the main show lounge), Norwegian Majesty offers a wide array of entertainment and activities. Music, from mellow piano favorites and dance tunes to island rhythms and hot disco action, should satisfys a wide range of passenger tastes.

While on board, we were treated to an abbreviated version of Norwegian Majesty's high-energy show, "Broadway Tonight" and were impressed with the talented singers and dancers. Presented in the Palace Theater's intimate, almost cabaret-style, setting, the production has big stage appeal.

Outdoor & Active Spaces
Walkers and joggers on Norwegian Majesty will be pleased to find a 360° wrap-around promenade deck, a traditional feature missing from most new cruise ships. For sun and fun, there are two swimming pools, two hot tubs, and several sunning areas, both adjacent to the pools and in quieter, out-of-the-way spots.

Aft on the Promenade Deck, Mandara Spa is a welcoming retreat offering an array of spa therapies and salon treatments for pure indulgence. Adjacent are a generously sized aerobics room and well-equipped gym--the ideal spots to work off dessert.

While not as extensive as those on newer vessels, the "Kid's Crew Program" offers a roster of age-appropriate activities. Adjacent to the Kid's Corner on Deck 9 aft is a children's splash pool, sure to be a center of family fun.

What You WILL Find:

  • Numerous choices
  • Tasty meals, creatively presented
  • Service by an attentive staff
  • Activities to suit a wide range of interests for all ages
  • Duty free shops
  • Kid's Corner for children, including a splash pool

  • Gratuities are automatically added to all accounts

A quiet retreat--House of Lords Lounge

What You WON'T Find:

  • A self-service laundry
  • Structured dress codes
  • Rigid dining schedules
  • Boredom

Fast Stats

  • 40,876 tons
  • 680 feet long
  • 91 feet wide

Norwegian Majesty sets sail on weekly cruises from Charleston, South Carolina to the Western Caribbean during her winter seasons.

What could be finer?!?
