Carnival
Fantasy
February 2005
Bahamas

This was the first cruise for us
including 2 teenagers, both 15. They had a blast meeting new
friends and staying up very late dancing to hip hop/top 40 tunes
in the Cats Lounge. The two teenage girls said that Spirals (the
teen club) was kind of lame and a little boring, but that it was a
good spot to meet up with other teenagers, and then they went on
from there.
I loved everything about the cruise.
Even ended up winning $1000.00 at the casino onboard! We had so
much fun we already booked another cruise in April and talked my
parents into going on their first ever cruise with us!
Embarkation was a breeze, although I
was just a little bit surprised that when you get on board no one
really tells you where to go. They just hand you a mini map of the
ship and say 'Here Ya Go'. It didn't bother us though, We just
laughed it off and after roaming the Riviera deck for a little
while, we found our cabins. The rooms were cleaned twice a day and
even the beds turned down in the evening with a little 'animal
towel' and chocolate left each night. We thought it was so cute we
even took pictures of our animal towels. The cabins were cleaned
better and the service better than some 4 star hotels I have
stayed in.
We all thought the staff was great!
They went out of their way to talk to us and to say hello. Plenty
of opportunities for drinks. Lots of partying and dancing but the
ship is so big that we were also able to find a few spots out of
the way that were quiet and we could just sit and talk for awhile,
relax and read or even take a nap if we wanted.
The food was good. Not great, but we
didn't expect great. We knew going on that this wasn't a 5 star
restaurant. The teens totally enjoyed the self serve ice cream and
24-hour pizza!
The teens had a ball dressing up for
formal night and walking down the huge staircase and having their
pictures taken. They also enjoyed riding in the glass enclosed
elevator. They spent hours in the arcade and one of the teens even
had a spa treatment. She said she was treated better than a queen!
We did not go on any shore
excursions, but toured Nassau and Atlantis on our own. I think
this time we may take a tour or two. The straw market was fun but
CROWDED AND CRAMPED.
We boarded expecting to have a good
time and that's exactly what we had! As I said, I have already
booked another cruise aboard the Fantasy for April 2005 and we
cant wait!
