Carnival Inspiration
August 2002

by Chevyg1999@aol.com

A week ago today I got off the carnival inspiration. It was the first cruise I have ever taken and I do have to say it was the best vacation that I have ever been on. I am 20 years old and I went with my aunt and my little cousin. The first day on the ship I thought it was not going to be a good trip as I am not a real outgoing person and I didn't know anyone my own age, but as time went on I met a lot of people. The first night at the singles party I won an excursion in Mexico on the fiesta party boat so right there I started to meet new people. Everyone (give or take a few people) on board was so nice. They were just looking for a good time and no matter what happened they found one.

The days at sea I do have to say were the best. We got to sleep in, lie in the sun, and do what we wanted to on our own time. Don't get me wrong, I loved all of our ports. Jamaica was our first and I didn't do anything that the ship had to offer. My aunt, cousin and I went to an orphanage, which was a great experience for me (I work as a preschool teacher). We didn't spend long there. After we left there we went to Doctors Cove and headed to Margaritaville for lunch ($72.95 was are bill for the 3 of us). We had to be back on ship at 5pm.

The next morning we woke up in Grand Cayman where we did a private tour to sting ray city. It was nice but we almost missed our boat to sting ray city because it took us 2 hours to get off the Inspiration. There was no one telling us where to go or watching to make sure no one was cutting in line. It was the same way to get back on the Inspiration. There were a bunch of people under a pavilion and pushing each other to get on. Then we left there at 3pm.

The next morning we were in Cozumel. I got straight on the fiesta party boat and it was non stop drinking from then on till we got back to the Inspiration.

Before I went on the cruise, one thing that I wanted to know the most about was drinking on board. They said that you had to be 21 to drink and I will be 21 in 2 months. When I  party I like to drink so I put my liquor in water bottles and put them in my check on luggage and I was able to drink on board. Even when I take my next cruise I will do the same thing. It was way cheaper. I only had enough for the first 2 days at sea so at our first stop I took empty water bottles off with me and filled them up when I was in town. I did the same thing in Cozumel (just make sure it is a clear liquor and just mix it with coke or something like that). I have friends that I met on the ship who put dark liquor in coke bottles no one ever knew. Drinks on board are $4.95 apiece. If you are going to drink more that 5 Cokes the whole time you are on board buy the soda fun card. It is worth it. Since I have been home I have stayed in contact with almost everyone I met on board and we are planning to meet up one weekend and swap pictures of the cruise. I hope you have as much fun on yours as I had on mine
