champagne, and celebrity entertainers... Norwegian Cruise Line really
knows how to throw a party.
Welcome to New York,
baby, and the christening of the Norwegian Dawn!
The New York City
Emerald Society Pipes and Drums opened the star-studded ceremony and,
to the delight of all present, cast members of the Broadway smash hit
"Rent" and the Harlem Boys Choir followed with performances
of New York-inspired tunes.
Mr. Colin Veitch,
President and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line, and Mr. Tan Sri, Chairman
of Star Cruises offered welcoming remarks before Norwegian Dawn's
Captain Idar Hoydal introduced the vessel's officers.
What everyone waiting
for, though, was Norwegian Dawn's Godmother... Kim Cattrall, star of
HBO's Sex and the City did not disappoint as she was joined by
a surprise mystery co-Godmother, an animated Statue of Liberty, to
proclaim, "I name this ship Norwegian Dawn. May God bless her and
all who sail her."
