Carnival Cruise Lines

Nov. 10, 2005

MIAMI - Carnival Cruise Lines announced that, based on the extensive clean-up and restoration progress in Cozumel, the company will resume port calls to the island beginning Monday, Nov. 14, with a day-long visit by the Carnival Triumph.

Initially, Carnival plans to re-introduce Cozumel on the itineraries of the following five ships that previously called at the island:

  • Carnival Triumph from Miami - seven-day cruises departing Nov. 12, 26, Dec. 10 and 24

  • Inspiration from Tampa - four-day cruises departing Nov. 17, Dec. 1, 15 and 29, and five-day voyages departing Nov. 21, Dec. 5, 10, 19 and 24

  • Carnival Conquest from Galveston, Texas - seven-day cruises departing Nov. 13, 20, 27, Dec. 4, 11, 18, and 25

  • Carnival Miracle from Tampa - seven-day voyages departing Nov. 13, 20, 27, Dec. 4, 11, 18 and 25

  • Carnival Glory from Port Canaveral, Fla. - seven-day voyage departing Nov. 19

"The progress in Cozumel has been absolutely remarkable and tremendous credit must be given to the local officials and citizens for their extraordinary efforts in readying the island for the return of cruise visitors," said Bob Dickinson, Carnival president and CEO.

For departures beyond Jan. 1, 2006, Carnival is currently evaluating itinerary options for other ships to return to Cozumel and will release this information as soon as it is available.

Because of damage to the piers at Cozumel, Carnival cruise ships will utilize tender services until further notice. The majority of previously offered shore excursions in Cozumel will operate as scheduled.

For those Carnival ships that are not immediately returning to Cozumel, the company is substituting the Mexican ports of Calica, Costa Maya, Progreso, and Veracruz for the following departures:

  • Fascination from Miami - Calica featured on four-day cruises departing Nov. 14, 21, 28, Dec. 5, 12, 19 and 26

  • Imagination from Miami - Calica featured on four-day cruises departing Nov. 17, Dec. 1, 15 and 29

  • Inspiration from Tampa - Costa Maya featured on five-day cruises departing Nov. 12 and 26

  • Elation from Galveston - Calica featured on the four-day cruise departing Nov. 10; Progreso and Veracruz featured on the five-day cruise departing Nov. 14

  • Carnival Valor from Miami - Costa Maya featured on seven-day cruises departing Nov. 13, 27, Dec. 11 and 25

  • Carnival Victory from Miami - Costa Maya featured on seven-day cruises departing Nov. 20, Dec. 4 and 18

  • Carnival Liberty from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. - Costa Maya featured on six-day voyages departing Nov. 20, Dec. 4 and 18, and eight-day voyages departing Nov. 26 and Dec. 24

  • Carnival Glory from Port Canaveral - Costa Maya featured on seven-day cruises departing Dec. 3, 17 and 31

Disney Cruise Line

Thank you for your interest in the ports of call featured on Disney Cruise Line's 7-night Disney Magic western Caribbean itinerary. As you may be aware, Hurricane Wilma passed directly over the island of Cozumel. While the island of Cozumel is involved in its recovery, we will be unable to call on this port. Therefore, we have changed our itinerary for our November 5, 2005, and November 19, 2005, western Caribbean cruises as follows:

November 5, 2005 Sailing

Saturday Port Canaveral, Florida
Sunday Key West, Florida
Monday Day at Sea
Tuesday Grand Cayman, The Cayman Islands
Wednesday Costa Maya, Mexico
Thursday Day at Sea
Friday Disney’s Castaway Cay, Bahamas
Saturday Port Canaveral, Florida

November 19, 2005 Sailing

Saturday Port Canaveral, Florida
Sunday Disney’s Castaway Cay, Bahamas
Monday Day at Sea
Tuesday Grand Cayman, The Cayman Islands
Wednesday Costa Maya, Mexico
Thursday Day at Sea
Friday Disney’s Castaway Cay, Bahamas
Saturday Port Canaveral, Florida

We anticipate additional western Caribbean voyages will need to be modified, as damage evaluation continues in Cozumel. We will post any updates as they occur.

Holland America Line

At Holland America Line, the safety and comfort of our guests and crew is our top priority. We closely monitor the progress of all storms and plan for any necessary contingencies. Due to the impact of recent storms we are closely monitoring the situation as it may affect our guests and operations.

Itinerary information will be updated regularly as necessary. Access to an abbreviated recorded message of updates is available by calling 1-800-577-1728.

Norwegian Cruise Line

The employees, officers and crew of NCL Corporation would like to extend their thoughts and prayers to the people affected by Hurricane Wilma.

The process of recovery and restoration in the hardest hit areas of the Yucatan Peninsula will be lengthy. As of now, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen and Cancun can not accept cruise ships and our return there will be contingent on their recovery. As such, the company is forced to amend itineraries for the following ships:

  • Norwegian Dream (Houston departure/7-day) – Until further notice, Norwegian Dream will sail a modified itinerary spending Sunday and Monday at sea, calling into Roatan, Honduras on Tuesday and Belize City, Belize on Wednesday and spending Thursday and Friday at sea returning to the Port of Houston on Saturday.

  • Norwegian Sun (Houston departure/7-day) – Until further notice, Norwegian Sun will sail a modified itinerary spending Monday and Tuesday at sea, calling into Belize City, Belize on Wednesday and Roatan, Honduras on Thursday and spending Friday and Saturday at sea returning to the Port of Houston on Sunday.

The company regrets any inconvenience caused by these unavoidable changes and thanks its guests for their patience and understanding.
