Updated News from Delta Airlines

NOTE:  While this message is from Delta Airlines, the information it contains is similar to that being distributed by other airlines. Check with your air carrier for their latest advisory.

9/20/01 - Thank you for your patience and cooperation as Delta adjusts to circumstances following last week's terribly sad events.

We understand that as a customer you may have questions about the current state of air travel. To help answer these, we're providing information about some procedural changes that may affect you on your next trip.

First and foremost, let us take this opportunity to assure you that passenger safety is our highest priority. Delta has resumed worldwide operations to ensure all of our customer's needs are met. Yesterday, we flew 86% of our normal daily schedule. Most Delta Connection carriers, including ACJet, Atlantic Southeast Airlines, Comair and SkyWest are flying more than 85% of their schedules.

For Your Next Delta Flight
  • Arrive at the airport a minimum of two hours prior to departure.
  • Bring photo identification and one of the following documents: electronic ticket receipt/itinerary, travel agency itinerary, Delta itinerary card, boarding document, or a paper ticket for same-day travel.
  • If you do not have any of the documents listed above, you must go to the ticket counter before proceeding through the security checkpoint.
  • Anticipate increased passenger and baggage security screenings, therefore passengers are encouraged to minimize baggage, including carry-on baggage.
  • Baggage may only be checked at the ticket counter. Curbside, SkyMiles Virtual Check-in, City Ticket Office or other off-airport location check-in is not permitted.
  • If you are traveling within the U.S. with carry-on baggage only, you may use our check-in kiosks located in select U.S. airports. Visit delta.com for more information about our airport check-in kiosks.
  • Visit delta.com for additional details and the latest information on our operations and what to expect at the airport.
  • Additional information may be available from the U.S. Department of Transportation (www.dot.gov) or on your local airport's Web site.
For future travel plans, check delta.com for potential schedule changes. If your reservation contains your SkyMiles account number, you may view "Your Itineraries" by logging in with your number and PIN.
