Passengers currently onboard our vessels are being disembarked and travel arrangements are being made to get them safely home. Renaissance Cruises Official Statement - 9/14/01

Renaissance Cruises recognizes that we have all been affected by the terrible events that recently took place. The Company has temporarily altered its standard cancellation policies to be sensitive to the needs and  concerns of traveling guests.

Due to air service disruptions, guests currently onboard Renaissance ships, R6 and Renaissance VIII, have been allowed to use the ship as a hotel until travel arrangements to the United States can be confirmed. Air travel arrangements for guests presently onboard the vessels will be coordinated by Renaissance Cruises regardless of whether air packages were purchased through the Company or not.

In an added effort to increase valuable lines of communication,  Renaissance Cruises has established a link on it's web site, www.RenaissanceCruises.com, that allows people to send messages to loved ones aboard any of the Company's 10 ships. A pop-up box at the site instructs visitors to "click here" and by typing a passenger name and sailing date, their message will be forwarded to friends and family at sea.

In addition, Renaissance Cruises has established a 24-hour "help desk" for passengers or travel agents needing assistance regarding current or future travel arrangements. The toll free number is 800-525-5350 or 954-463-0982 (select prompt #1 for Reservations), which will be staffed until further notice.

Renaissance Announces Cruise Cancellations
