RE: Travel Insurance Coverage pertaining to
        the events of 9-11-2001

Travel Guard International, the nation's leading travel insurance supplier, will cover travel insurance claims resulting from the terrorist attacks on the U.S. on September 11 for our retail travel insurance policies that include terrorism coverage.

For travelers who purchased our Cruise, Tour & Travel or Travel Guard Select policies prior to September 11, 2001, Travel Guard will cover trip delay claims, based on the terms and conditions of their specific policy, for travelers affected by the terrorist incidents. These customers also will be given the option to reschedule or cancel their trip altogether and receive reimbursement from Travel Guard.

For travelers who purchased our Super Saver economy plan, before September 11, 2001, we will cover trip delay claims based on the terms and conditions of the policy. These travelers will also be given the option to reschedule or cancel their trip altogether and receive reimbursement from Travel Guard, but only if their trip is scheduled to begin prior to October 11, 2001.

We are moving ahead with this decision much faster than any other company in our industry to help alleviate the concerns of American travelers and help restore confidence for their future travel. We hope this action will help put our customers at ease. We hope the entire travel industry follows our lead in providing assurance to the traveling public of protection before and during their trips.

Like many throughout the country and the world, we were deeply hurt and moved by the loss of so many innocent lives. Rather than weaken our resolve, these events have helped all Americans find a stronger commitment to the ideals of democracy and the foundation upon which our country was built.

Since this tragedy occurred, Travel Guard has not closed its doors and has deployed additional staff to our service centers to handle the large volume of calls from the thousands of our clients who have been stranded throughout the world. We have helped an American woman get out of Afghanistan; we have rebooked travel arrangements for thousands of stranded business travelers; and we have been answering coverage concerns from travelers who have already booked future trips.

Our volume of calls, in some cases, was 10 times higher than normal. We have doubled and tripled our staff. Some employees have been working 24-hour shifts.

Our travel partners and our traveling clients have counted on Travel Guard for more than two decades for their protection needs. We will dedicate the massive job ahead of us to the victims of this horrible crime, which included not only Americans, but victims from 40 other countries as well. All of us here at Travel Guard will work to help America come back and come back even stronger.

For all of our friends throughout the nation and the world, God speed on your future travels. You have my personal pledge that we will continue to be there for you when you need us.
